12/14/2023: Community Updates & Road Map for this Month!

Here are the latest updates and upcoming features in group communities:

1. Comment Preview Enhancement: We have improved the comment tagging email notification feature. Now, when you receive a notification about being tagged in a comment, clicking on the notification will redirect you to the exact comment and highlight it for better visibility.
2. Improved Accessibility: In the "Add Course" card, the list of courses is now alphabetically sorted. This enhancement ensures better accessibility and makes it easier for users to find the desired course.
3. Aggregation Feature: We have introduced an aggregation feature for number counters throughout the communities app. For example, if there are 10,010 likes on a post, it will be represented as "10K likes". Similarly, group members count and post count in the group info component will also use this aggregation format.
4. Moderator Tab Update: The moderator tab now displays a "Coming Soon" message instead of an empty table. This indicates that we are actively working on bringing new features and functionality specifically for moderators.
5. UI Enhancements: We have fixed the back button functionality and made other user interface enhancements for the post view. These improvements provide a smoother and more enjoyable browsing experience.

We are thrilled to announce some exciting updates to our community platform!

One of the most anticipated features is the ability to edit comments, giving you more control over your interactions. Additionally, we have implemented unread notifications for new member requests, ensuring you never miss an important request again. Furthermore, we have enhanced the Groups Members count synchronization, guaranteeing the accuracy of the displayed member count in group descriptions.

We have also resolved issues related to invitation flows, including fixing the invitation via email flow for existing group members and preventing duplicate contact creation. These updates reflect our commitment to continuously improving our community platform and providing you with an exceptional user experience. Get ready to enjoy a smoother and more engaging community environment!

We are also thrilled to announce that Communities Actions & Triggers are now LIVE! This highly requested feature, voted by our amazing community, is finally here!

With Communities Actions & Triggers, you can now trigger off of community group adds and revokes. This means that you have even more control over your community groups and can take action accordingly. Whether it's granting access to a community group or revoking it, you can now do it seamlessly and effortlessly.

We're also working on bringing these exciting capabilities to our API very soon. This means that you'll have the flexibility to integrate these powerful features into your own applications and workflows.

But that's not all!

We're thrilled to announce even more community enhancements and bug fixes! Our team has been hard at work to bring you an even better user experience. Here's what's new:

Enhancements:

1. Channel Name Limit Increase: We've increased the channel name limit to 25 characters, allowing you more freedom to express yourself and create memorable channel names.
2. Seamless Sign Up: Sign up will no longer fail if a user was created from the backend through workflows. Enjoy a smooth and hassle-free sign-up process!
3. Mitigating Duplicate Contacts: We've implemented measures to prevent the creation of duplicate contacts. Now, signing up with the same email multiple times from CP will no longer result in duplicate contacts.
4. Enhanced Sign-In Flow: For all first-time users who log in via "Login with Secure Code," we've added a "Set Password" screen. This ensures an extra layer of security and convenience for our valued users.
5. Improved Communication: Users will now receive prompt notifications to check their emails for secure codes. Stay informed and never miss an important message again!

Bug Fixes:

1. Like Count UI Issue: We've fixed a UI issue where the like count was breaking. Enjoy a visually appealing and seamless browsing experience.
2. Blank Comment Prevention: Users can no longer send comments without any content. Say goodbye to empty comments and enhance the quality of your interactions.
3. Streamlined Email Notifications: Previously, emails for courses in communities were being sent immediately upon adding a member. Now, users will only receive these emails when a new course is added, ensuring timely and relevant information.
4. Private Group Loading Bug: We addressed a bug where private groups were not loading when an owner was deleted. This issue has been resolved, allowing smooth access to private group content.

10/09/2023: Pinned Posts are Live for Communities!

Introducing Pinned Posts for Communities!

We are excited to announce a new feature for all admins and owners of communities - Pinned Posts! With Pinned Posts, you can now mark certain posts as “Featured” or pinned to give them the spotlight they deserve.

To pin a post, simply follow these steps:

1. Click on the three dots menu (⋮) located on the post you want to pin.
2. Select the “Pin” option from the menu.

When mark a post as featured in a channel, it will appear prominently at the top of that channel. This ensures that important announcements or discussions receive maximum visibility within the channel.

Home Timeline Highlight: Similarly, pinning a post in the Home Timeline will place it at the top of your home feed. This way, you won’t miss out on any significant updates from your favorite communities.

Unpinning a Post: If you wish to unpin a featured post, simply click on the “Unpin” action. This will remove the post from its pinned position.
